If you’ve read any of my previous beauty skincare posts, you know that after many years of having super dry skin my skin has evolved into a more combination skin type. With also getting into a routine of using face masks, it means I love trying new ones.
I have stuck to my Holy Grail moisturizing Clarins Hydra-quench mask for years, but masks to purify or cleanse I haven’t yet found one I couldn’t live without…. yet!
The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask is new and is part of the Body Shops new range of masks. The mask contains charcoal and green tea, meaning it purifies the skin and absorbs excess oils yet leaving it feeling super soft. This face mask reminds me a lot of the GLAMGLOW mask that I tried a few years ago; it gives the same tingling feeling to begin with and dries on the skin. It gives the skin a glow and gives a healthy look to the skin. It doesn’t look the nicest of masks, but if it does the job I don’t mind what it look like!
I apply the mask with a real techniques foundation brush, as I find this is the best way to apply it without dipping your hands in the pot. I have already used this around 5 times, including on Ryan see the hilarious picture below, and yet it doesn’t event looked like I’ve touched it. At only £16.00 I honestly think this is great value for money and can see this lasting me a long time.
I currently only use this once a week, but I can instantly see the difference in my skin afterwards. I always follow is with the Clarins mask as for one I am lazy and would rather get them on in one day and I feel they work so well together. The body shop mask is not drying like some purifying mask I have tried before; so don’t feel like you need to use another mask afterwards. As anything from the Body Shop it is cruelty free and this mask in particular is 100% vegan, paraben, silicone and mineral oil free.
I highly recommend this mask, event if you don’t have combination skin. I don’t apply this all over my face, just the areas I need for example the T zone, so it is great to use when your skin needs a little more help. It was recently sold out on the Body Shop website, so get it while you can!
